Crillon Tours: Bolivia, Where Every Season Tells a Story

On Saturday, August 1st, 2026, La Paz moved to a different rhythm. The Gran Poder Parade, one of Bolivia’s most important folkloric celebrations and recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, transformed the city into a river of colour, music and movement, as thousands of dancers and musicians filled its streets in an extraordinary expression of living Andean culture.

For Crillon’s travellers who were in La Paz that day, it became an unexpected highlight of their journey. Crillon Tours arranged reserved seating along the parade route, allowing our guests to experience the spectacle up close — from the intricate costumes and powerful brass bands to the energy of a tradition deeply woven into the identity of the city.

Gran Poder is only one date in a remarkable Bolivian year. Our Bolivia Calendar brings together major folkloric celebrations, cultural events, celestial phenomena visible beneath the immense skies of Uyuni and Lake Titicaca, and much more.

Write to Crillon Tours or contact millie@americas.co.uk for  more information and to receive the Bolivia calendar so to discover what might coincide with your clients’ journey.

Buemes DMC: New Brazil–Uruguay Air Links Boost Access to Punta del Este

Uruguay is set to enjoy stronger air links with Brazil for the 2026/27 summer season, making Punta del Este even easier to combine with a wider South American itinerary.

Azul has announced additional seasonal services linking Punta del Este with Porto Alegre, Campinas and Belo Horizonte (Confins), with flights scheduled during the peak summer months from December to February.

The expanded programme is particularly relevant for international travellers already including Brazil in their journey. With more direct connections into Uruguay’s Atlantic coast, visitors will have greater flexibility to create seamless multi-country itineraries combining Brazil with Punta del Este, José Ignacio, Montevideo and Uruguay’s wine regions.

Beyond its famous beaches, Punta del Este is also an excellent gateway to contemporary art, fine dining, boutique wineries and the scenic countryside of Maldonado.

For UK travellers and tour operators, these additional flights open up attractive new possibilities for sophisticated Brazil–Uruguay combinations during the Southern Hemisphere summer.
